INFORMATION FROM THE COMMITTEE. SOLWAY QUILTERS
COMMITTEE HAD A MEETING ON MONDAY THE 17TH AUGUST. HERE BELOW IS A LETTER FROM OUR SECRETARY JANE. THOSE MEMBERS WHO HAVE EMAIL ADDRESS HAS RECEIVED THIS BY EMAIL AND THE REST BY
PHONE.
Dear
member,
I am writing on behalf of the committee,
hoping you and yours are well and adjusting to the new normality.
We wanted to keep you informed of the
current situation. For the time being we don't have premises that will allow us to meet as a group but it would be nice to think we might be able to have a social get together perhaps for Christmas.
Realistically we hope to resume meetings sometime at the beginning of next year and initially plan to continue where we left off with our syllabus.
We have had our accounts audited and at
present our bank balance is quite healthy, mainly due to the fact that our only on going financial commitment is for maintaining our website. Ena would like to relinquish the position of treasurer
and we would welcome anyone wishing to volunteer their service for the future.
Looking forward further we are expecting
the exhibition to take place at Gracefield sometime next year, although dates are yet to be confirmed. We are aware that the Embroiderer's Guild and Spinners and Weavers are working towards the
exhibition and feel we should make preparations too, for whenever it is able to take place. We plan to show the completed Row by Row Challenge pieces and would like you to think about any other items
you might like to be considered for inclusion. Hopefully finishing projects in readiness for next years exhibition will keep you happily quilting.
Kind Regards, Jane.
ALL SOLWAY QUILTERS MEETINGS ARE STILLCANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
Stay safe and virus free and happy stitching.
