Please note that our venues for meetings have changed.

Saturdays  10 am to 3 pm - we meet at Baptist Church, Gillbrae Road, Dumfries DG1 4EJ. For these meetings we have access to kitchenette where we can make hot drinks. Bring your own mug and lunch. We will be upstairs but there is a lift.

Thursday evening meetings have changed to afternoon meetings 1 pm to 3 pm - at Gracefield Art Centre, Edinburgh Road, Dumfries DG1 1JQ. The Cafe is open from 10.00 hrs until 15.30 hrs.  2

5 APRIL TO 10 MAY 2025 EXHIBITION - SETTING UP WILL TAKE PLACE BETWEEN 26-28 MARCH 2025, VOLUNTEERS FOR HELPING SET UP AND FOR SUPERVISING THE EXHIBITION ROOM AND/OR DEMONSTRATING QUILTING TECHNIQUES

SATURDAY WORKSHOP DATES

15 JUNE 2024 - DISPLAYING YOUR ALBUM QUILT PIECES

• Bring your Album Quilt pieces and we will have a discussion on the different ways of presenting your work.
• Completion of the Quilt in a Day we started at the AGM

21 SEPTEMBER 2024 10 am to 4 pm - Machine Quilting Techniques with Trudi Wood 

• Trudi Wood, an experienced quilter will be running this workshop. There will be charge for those participating, amount to be confirmed.
• PAT checks by Phil Proctor DBCC Centre Manager £2 per item. Bring your sewing machines, irons, extension leads. CASH ONLY.

19 OCTOBER 2024 - Fabric Mosaic, Elma Graham

• Turn your design into a fabric mosaic using raw edge applique

16 NOVEMBER 2024 - Ideas for making small items of sale at the exhibition

• Members bring ideas, examples and instructions / small demonstrations on what individuals couldmake to sell at the exhibition to raise funds for the group
• Bear in mind that some of the event will be over the Easter weekend

14 DECEMBER 2024 - Zen (or Grafiti) Quilting, Elma Graham

• Adding to your Album Quilt, This months focus will be on doodling with your sewing machine to create mindful quilt effect

15 MARCH 2025 - To finalise Album Quilt for displaying

• Bring your own work e.g. your Album Quilt or other work to finish prepairing for the exhibition
• Discussion re ways to hang quilts other items in readiness for the exhibition
• Last day for entry nforms to be submittged for items you wish to include in the exhibition

17 MAY 2025 - AGM AND SOCIAL

• AGM including show and tell of all work completed throughout this session
• Lunch and social
• The afternoon to be confirmed
